With a familiarity of Linux, MySQL, and PHP, this
applicant would be able to demonstrate self-driven learning perhaps through the
learning of other languages or the active pursuit of a college degree.
After reviewing this applicant's application, we will
request a promising candidate to take a short online proficiency test and a
telephone interview. Bizware has room for one junior PHP programmer at a time,
so we set the bar high.
If we decide to take a chance on you, we'll provide a
sandbox for you on our development server, but you'll also need a PHP
development environment on your local PC. We'll assign a senior PHP programmer
to be your mentor, and he'll point you at programming resources, but he will
not be a teacher with lectures.
When we assign programming tasks, we will authorize
the number of hours a senior programmer would need to complete that task, and
you will need to add whatever additonal time, effort, and research you need to
complete the task.
This opening averages 2 hours per day, but can be
increased to 4 hours/day until progression to a senior PHP programmer has been
achieved.
